WHAT'S UNDERNEATH YOUR LAPTOP?
There are
big laptop coolers and there are
small laptop coolers. There are
fancy laptop coolers with
built-in
card readers and all sorts of
fancy gadgets. There are simple
laptop coolers that only have one
fan or no fan at all. And then there
is the sensible laptop cooler that
provides what you really need in the
most convenient form factor and
that's exactly where I would place
the
QuadCooler in the ever evolving
world of
laptop coolers. If the
QuadCooler was a
motorcycle it would be something
in the mid range category like a
650cc or 750cc class motorbike. The
advantage of the mid size motorcycle
is that it packs plenty of power,
but is still light enough to breeze
through the corners of
a
winding mountain road. Although,
you will not be taking corners in a
QuadCooler, the philosophy is
similar. The QuadCooler has plenty
of cooling power with its 4 evenly
placed fans, but it is light enough to pack
along with your laptop to carry to
school or the
office.

ALWAYS USE PROTECTION
Laptop
computers are expensive tools/toys and
are therefore worth protecting from
the dangers of
over heating.
However, even more important than
the laptop is
you, the user of a laptop.
Although it is rare that people
actually get
burned by laptops, the
heat can make the user
very uncomfortable thereby
reducing
productivity and/or
creativity. If you use your
laptop for entertainment like
gaming, then the heat can reduce
your overall enjoyment of your
favorite computer pastime.
In addition, if you take a good look
at the
underbelly of a typical laptop
computer, you will notice that the
battery itself actually makes up
a part of the bottom section of your
laptop. With
battery removed, you have a
rectangular hole in your laptop.
Therefore, when you place a
typical laptop on your bare
lap, you are actually placing a
battery on your lap. Now some people
don't fancy the idea of placing a
battery directly on their
leg and for those people, the
QuadCooler (or most
laptop coolers
for that matter) provide a nice
barrier between you and the
battery. |
